Jon Stewart/Samantha Bee are apparently swallowing the Big Pharma kool-aid towards vaccines with this piece on liberal vaccine opponents.
Samantha Bee ridicules the vaccine opponents with nothing to back up her slanted viewpoint. She shows a brief chart that does not explain in depth what it means, who composed it, how many subjects were included (vaccinated versus non-vaccinated?). She also ignores the fact that many folks, like myself, have gotten measles, mumps, rubella, chickenpox and survived–but I was made terribly ill by mercury amalgams and coal ash–how can that be ignored?
She fails to ask “why?” some folks do well and others do not.
Bee even ridicules Sarah Pope for saying that getting the horses out of the streets–meaning horse manure–led to more hygienic conditions. That is not disputed by the vaccine proponents–there were open sewers in the streets back in the days of epidemics. People did not wash their hands with soap and water after using the restroom or using hygienic practices while cooking or handling food. All of these are factors in keeping diseases in check.
And of course, the biggest factors in immune health–limited toxin exposure and organic, non-grain food, were completely left out of this piece. Stunning.
She also does not include those whom have been harmed by vaccines–verifiable cases that the Vaccine Court has paid out claims from harm….while Big Pharma is shielded from responsibility of the harm their products cause while raking in $$$ profits in the billions.
Dr. Offitt is featured in this Age of Autism article. By his own words, he has been made rich off of vaccines…therefore, his pro-vaccine views are hardly unbiased….he’s a prostitute by any other name. And that’s really an insult to prostitutes because at least they have an honest trade…
“The screaming started four hours after 8-month-old Chaise Irons received a vaccination against rotavirus, recommended in June 1998 by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for every infant to prevent serious diarrhea. Within a day he was vomiting and eliminating blood. Doctors performed emergency surgery, saving him by repairing his intestines, which were folding in on one another. A doctor later figured out the vaccine caused Chaise’s problem. In October 1999, after 15 reports of such incidents, the CDC withdrew its recommendation for the vaccination — not because of the problem, the agency claims, but because bad publicity might give vaccines in general a bad name. But a four-month investigation by United Press International found a pattern of serious problems linked to vaccines recommended by the CDC — and a web of close ties between the agency and the companies that make vaccines.”

On February 23, 2006 the ACIP voted to add Paul Offit’s vaccine, Rotateq, to the U.S. Immunization schedule. As we all know, Dr. Offit has conceded this vaccine “made him rich.” An analyst for Merck notes, “At a cost of $187.50 for the three-dose series, RotaTeq is one of the most expensive vaccines to date; by 2009, the company forecasts that the vaccine could bring in as much as $500 million in annual revenue.”

Did anybody else notice the irony of Jon Stewart/Samantha Bee passing themselves off as “more informed” while making fun of other non-science persons who protest against vaccines? They also conveniently left out the fact that there are SCIENTISTS AND MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS who are also questioning vaccine safety and efficacy.
I can’t speak for others, but I am protesting the forced vaccinations. Everyone has a right to good, unbiased information on vaccines, from which they can make up their own minds whether to vaccinate or not. They have a right to their own bodies and what goes in them. I see this as a Fourth Amendment issue–a right to be let alone and a right to privacy.
The idea that if someone doesn’t vaccinate that they’re putting everyone at risk is ludicrous. They say vaccines protect you from disease by creating antibodies. If your system has antibodies, it supposedly fights off the disease. It doesn’t make sense, then, that if I don’t get vaccinated, and get a disease, that I can make you ill even if you are vaccinated. It makes no sense at all.
Lastly, I have to wonder at Big Pharma’s influence in the media, and Stewart’s show. (As a side note~ I see where Stephen Colbert also has Dr. Offit on his show–which lends credence to it being pushed by that channel and some money changing hands. But Colbert also is pushing geoengineering with his good friend Bill Gates…so yeah, not a progressive thinker he is purported to be.)
You can’t watch a news show without every other commercial an ad for a prescription drug–usually loaded with terrible, life-changing side effects. I rarely watch Stewart any more, so I can’t even comment on his commercial sponsors. One has to wonder if this piece were “product placement” of sorts–do a big piece on ridiculing anti-vaccine proponents to make Big Pharma look like Saviors….
