A scientist with integrity will produce evidence to support his/her conclusions or if not, will retract the paper published. If they fail to do so, one can assume they are compromised–either they are being funded by those that benefit from their conclusions, or they are not of sound judgment and their papers published should be questioned for validity. I think people are intimidated into not questioning scientists because of jargon and fear of appearing stupid for asking questions. Ask away, I say. Ask away. And keep asking until they answer your questions in a straightforward way.
